My Pentax K 30
About 2 months ago, I saw the Carrie Mae Weems photography exhibit at the Frist Museum for Visual Art. This exhibit re-awakened my love for photography-a love that had to take a back burner because of other things in my life. However, it seems that things have been guiding me back to photography. I recently purchased an enlarger in the hopes of setting up my basement darkroom. I know that will take some time and effort to get going, so in the meantime I bought my first DSLR.
Being a Pentax fan, there was really no other option for me. My first SLR was a Pentax, so my decision about brand was the only easy one. It took me some time and effort to figure out which camera was right for me though. I even visited my local photography store to examine the different Pentax DSLRs; however, I was informed that they no longer carried Pentax, so it was back the Internet message boards and other sites for me. After a couple of weeks of researching and debating, I purchased a Pentax K30. Thus began my journey into the world of DSLR photography.
Since I am having so much fun with this amazing camera, I decided to start a photo blog. My goal with this blog is to post at least a photo a day for a year. I will post pics of whatever inspires me. Sometimes I will stage the photos and other times it may be an impulse shot. I've decided that what is really important for me right now is to take photographs, so there will probably be no rhyme or reason to this blog. Some days I may comment on the photos. Other days I may not comment at all. I'm just going to allow it to unfold and watch what happens.
